  • EZGO PowerWise Charger Repair Relay
This listing includes the relay for the EZGO charger circuit board.  The PowerWise charger tends to stop working suddenly and unexpectedly.  Most people immediately assume it’s the the little control board and spend $55 or more to buy a new one.  Many times, the board itself is fine and just the relay has failed….though sometimes it can be in the board.  I DO NOT GUARANTEE THAT THIS WILL FIX YOUR ISSUE.  There is a good chance it will, but seeing as some people seem to think they can buy this, install it and file a return saying it doesn’t work it appears I need to put that in capital letters.  This is an Electrical item and once installed cannot be returned!  So if you aren’t willing to take a $12 risk, then don’t! This listing is for the Relay only.  The relay can be removed from the control board and replaced with a little effort saving you lots of money.  I include an instruction sheet with full color pictures written in common man’s english.  No crappy technical book reading that was translated from chinese or some other language that you need a degree from MIT to read.  A little friendly advice on this job.  If you aren’t a patient person, don’t take this on.  If you get mad easily when things aggravate you, don’t take this on.  If you tend to break small items trying to fix them, don’t take this on.  This job can be very tedious and varies by board.  Some boards are easy and the relay comes right off……some boards are a Royal Pain and it takes some time and effort.  I’m just saying, be prepared to have your blood pressure rise if you anger easily.  It isn’t a hard job, just that it can drive you mad since they glued the relay to the board as well as having soldered it.
To test your charger to see if the relay has caused your failure, simply take the two connections on the relay off and safely attach them to each other creating a solid cable.  You can do this with a jumper or a set of alligator clips.  Putting those two wires together will eliminate the control board from the circuit and and make your charger instantly on upon plugging it in.  I must stress this is not a safe way to continuously operate a charger, this is only for testing to locate a failure.  Now when you plug in your cart if the charger is working as normal, you know you most likely have a failed relay on your board.  The factory relay is soldered in place with four pins, as well as having an adhesive holding it to the board.  It takes some vigilant effort to get the adhesive to release the relay, but with care it can be done without damaging the board.  Once the old relay is removed, it need not be installed with any new adhesive.  Just solder in a new relay and reinstall the control board!  I will include an instruction sheet with color photos for you to follow.  If you cannot get it to come off, I also offer a mail in service where I will rebuild the board for you.  I am always available for assistance via email and offer excellent support to all my customers!  I can’t guarantee you this is 100% the cause of your issue, but in about 95% of cases the relay is the only part that has failed.  I have been working on and repairing carts and chargers for many, many years now and all my knowledge comes from firsthand experience! NO RETURNS ON INSTALLED RELAYS!  I have in the past taken returns but since people abuse the ebay system and falsely state that the relay doesn’t work when it works fine but the board is shot I am forced to no longer accept returns on these items.  If you don’t like that, then go buy the $60 board instead.  Sorry to sound so rude and obnoxious but I am sick of people abusing the return system and causing me to eat shipping both ways and get back items that have been used or damaged.  It’s $12, and it’s basically a high odds gamble in your favor to fix it.  I’ve sold hundreds of these, and less than 5% of those have had other issues that the relay alone didn’t fix.  So sorry to the good customer base for the new policy, but the whiners out there who think the world owes them everything cause the implementation of no return policies.  If you are not comfortable replacing the relay yourself, contact me and I can setup to have you ship the board to me and I’ll replace the relay for you.
